State Science Olympiad Results

Coach Meredith Smith reports that the Belleville High School Science Olympiad team took 8th place overall at the state meet out of 50 Division C schools. This event took place on Saturday, April 7, on the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Congratulations to the following medal winners:
2nd Place in Thermodynamics: Otto Anson and Jack Nolden

4th Place in Mousetrap Vehicle: Logan and Noah Niesen
4th Place in Sustainable Energy: Emma and Otto Anson

5th Place in Rocks and Minerals: Gianna Diaz and Gary Salmela
5th Place in WiFi Lab: Hansi Bartle and Gianna Diaz

6th Place in Mission Possible: Logan and Noah Niesen
6th Place in Protein Modeling: Roxana Grunenwald, Elise Medenwald, and Gary Salmela

Students experienced more than just the competition. On Friday, students attended different science lectures and demonstrations. Guest speakers addressed the competitors from the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center's Raptor Program.

On Friday night, Belleville students also took part in an Escape Room. It was a great way to cap another successful season!
