On Friday, December 21, 8th grade students visited three local farms in conjunction with an English Language Arts unit around the book The Omnivore's Dilemma. Three different student groups visited the Fahey, Meier, and Paris family farms. They took tours, asked questions, and took notes. Then back at school, they shared out with their classmates who had visited different farms. The students were able to compare and contrast how the farms milk, utilize manure, grow crops, and rely on machinery.
