On Saturday, January 12, twenty-three Belleville High School DECA students participated in the District 3 Career Development Conference at Sun Prairie High School. BHS transitioned from FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) to DECA for the 2016-17 school year. They had not had a state qualifier in those three years until today. Caden O'Rourke and Ogden York were series champions in sports marketing and became the first Wildcats to receive an automatic bid to the state competition in Lake Geneva in early March.
The duo of Mikaela Steckelis and Lexi Walker, as well as individuals Ella Campbell and Cecilia Grefsheim, all medaled, receiving one of the top scores in either their tests or role plays. Kennedy Dreger filled in for Ella on stage, having to leave the event early.
