Engineering Design & Development Competition

On Tuesday, June 11, Matteo Latorre and Jakson Trainor were invited to the Milwaukee School of Engineering for Project Lead the Way's state Engineering Design and Development Competition. Of the 25 submissions statewide, the students' archery backstop project was selected as a finalist, placing it within the top eight in the state of Wisconsin. Although they ultimately did not place in the top three to earn scholarship money for their project, Matteo and Jakson represented Belleville High School well, even earning praise and encouragement from one of the judges who sought them out after the results were announced. It also continues a trend of two consecutive invitations to this prestigious event which Mr. Neumann hopes to carry forward with next year's students.

Awards Ceremonies

On May 7, the last day of school, the middle and high school staff celebrated the 2018-19 school year with awards programs. The Kiwanis attended the middle school ceremony and presented their subject area excellence awards. They later treated the students to a celebration at the conclusion of the program. The 7th and 8th grade staff also distributed excellence and most improved awards by class.

At the high school awards program, soon-to-be graduates took home 115 scholarships worth about $125,000. This is more than $60,000 given out out last year. These are all local scholarships with real cash from area donors. Congratulations to the scholarship winners, and thank you for all the donations from local businesses and community members!

8th and 12th Grade Trips

As the 2018-19 school year comes to a close, the 8th graders are wrapping up their last few days in middle school and the seniors are finishing their last days in high school. On Thursday, May 6, the Class of 2023 ventured to Yellowstone Lake State Park, while the Class of 2019 traveled to Devil's Lake State Park. Both groups enjoyed warm weather (with temperatures nearing 80 degrees) and time near the water to hang out with the classmates. These are the types of activities that the middle and high school staff hope create bonds and lasting memories for our students!
