The Belleville High School Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz groups would like to invite you to attend the 4th annual “Jazz in the Park” concert. This concert will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:00pm at Library Park in downtown Belleville. Both groups will be performing contemporary jazz selections featuring such artists as: The Beatles, Coldplay, Jamiroquai, the Blues Brothers, Michael Buble, Chicago, and Sting. This concert is free and features about 50 of our outstanding high school musicians who have been rehearsing together since October.

This year’s concert is a celebration of the BHS Fine Arts and Humanities classes. There will be Forensic performances from 6:00-6:30pm, along with an Art Fair featuring our talented high school artists.

Not only will you be able to enjoy a night of excellent music, but the Music Boosters will also be selling concessions at this event to raise money for the Belleville Music program. The Music Boosters will be selling brats, hot dogs, baked potatoes, and other treats. So bring a lawn chair or blanket and come enjoy a relaxing evening with us.

In case of rain, the event will be held the same night and time in the Belleville High School auditorium. We are hoping for great weather and a great turn out!

Exploring Hospitality Field Trip

Today in Exploring Hospitality Management, a Madison College dual-credit course, students spent the morning learning about the wine and spirits business from 13th generation French winemaker, Phillippe Coquard, owner of Wollersheim Winery and Distillery in Prairie du Sac.  The knowledge and skills required in the areas of agriculture, wine science, manufacturing, business operations, marketing, and retail to bring high quality, affordable beverages to the consumer was very interesting and far more involved than any of us realized! 1, 2, 3, 4 We Declare a Penny War!

Starting on Monday, April 9, the Middle and High Schools will take on the Elementary and Intermediate Schools in a Penny War to raise funds for the new Elementary School's playground equipment. The Penny War will run until Friday, April 20. Selfishly, I want our building to win because the opposing schools' students get to pick what happens to the other buildings' principal. I really don't want to shave my head, take a pie to the face, or spend the night on the roof! So, please encourage your students to add "positively" to the MS-HS bucket and "negatively" to the ES-IS bucket .

Stay tuned for a video with Mr. Conzemius and myself on the Facebook pages!
