On Wednesday night, May 1, Belleville Middle and High Schools, in coordination with the Belleville Area Cares Coalition, hosted a parent forum on the dangers of e-cigarette products and vaping. The presentation began with a review of Belleville's data from the Dane County Youth Risk Assessment survey from last spring. Nina Gregorson from the Tobacco Free Columbia Dane County Coalition was the keynote speaker on the topic. The night concluded with a panel discussion with Gregorson, school district nurse Becky Clark, and Belleville Police Officer Cody Pharo. The event raised awareness and offered possible solutions to address the vaping issue, with 36 participants in attendance.
