Badger Boys' State

Three Belleville seniors-to-be spent last week on the Ripon College campus with over 800 other young men from around the state. The Badger Boys' State program is sponsored by the American Legion and teaches students about leadership and the role of government by simulating the creation of a 51st state and all that goes along with it.

Belleville was represented by Cash Hoffman, Patrick Schwoegler, and Joey Sokol. They were selected by the high school's Leadership Committee, under the direction of Gifted & Talented Coordinator Sandy Walejko. Dave Eustice and American Legion Post 460 worked to sponsor the boys.

Patrick won a seat as a municipal judge and also ran for circuit court judge and state Supreme Court justice. Joey ran for city and county treasurer.  All three boys had the opportunity to meet Governor Walker.

THE CLASS OF 2016

Congratulations to the Class of 2016! Sunday's ceremony was a beautiful day to celebrate. One spectator noted, "I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the graduation ceremony...This was the first Belleville High School graduation I have been to; and I must say that it was the nicest, most personal, and well-run high school graduation ceremony that I have ever attended. So many aspects were absolutely fantastic: the seating arrangement, the wonderful speeches by all...the flower distribution, the tributes to Maridian, the band and choral performances, and especially the focus on each individual graduate (with not only the reading of their names, but also where they were headed and who they wished to thank)."
It was a great day to be a Wildcat!

The BMS Most Improved Awards went to Sam Deery and Ogden York. At the high school, $32,475 in scholarships were distributed to our students, most to our graduating seniors. This included the Academic Excellence Scholarship to Nicole Sanders, the valedictorian of the Class of 2016. Thank you to all of our donors for supporting the School District of Belleville!

Introduction to Engineering Design College Credit

Mr. Neumann's Introduction to Engineering Design classes recently took their final exam for the course, and fifteen of the sixteen students scored high enough to earn high enough to earn college credit for their scores. Fourteen of the sixteen met all of the criteria (including completing a portfolio and maintaining a "B" in the class) for credit. Eight students can earn credit through the Milwaukee School of Engineering or St. Cloud State University. Five more can get credit through St. Cloud. The average stanine score was 6.5 out of 9 for the Belleville High School classes. What a great start to the program!
