Last night (2-1), four Belleville FFA members participated in the District FFA Speaking Contest hosted by the Parkview FFA. Denise Rankin and Clarice Loeffelholz competed in the job interview contest which included creating a cover letter and resume, filling out an application, as well as an interview. Amanda Lettman competed against other freshmen by reciting the FFA Creed from memory. Lastly, Rachel Uebelacker competed in the Extemporaneous Speaking contest where she was given 30 minutes to write a speech about a given Agriculture topic and then presented a 5-minute speech about it to the judges. Even though we didn't bring home any plaques, they had a great time and gained some useful communication skills! [Submitted by Mrs. Knudson]
